Construction and Handover Cleaning

Post-Construction Cleaning in Gqeberha

Phased cleaning to remove general construction dust and residue and prepare suitable premises for inspection, handover or occupation.

From Building Site to Presentable Space

New and refurbished premises often require more than one clean. Dust settles repeatedly, trades may still be finishing work and different areas become ready at different times. Skyway plans the service in phases and confirms which areas are ready for cleaning.

The service is intended for general post-construction cleaning. Rubble removal, hazardous substances and specialist restoration require separate arrangements.

Typical Service Phases

01

Initial clean

Removal of loose dust, packaging residue and light general debris from approved areas.

02

Detailed clean

Focused cleaning of suitable floors, fittings, cupboards, sanitary areas, windows, frames and accessible surfaces.

03

Final presentation clean

A final inspection and touch-up after other trades have completed their work and before handover or occupation.

Service Scope May Include

Vacuuming and removal of fine dust from accessible surfaces
Cleaning floors, skirtings and edges
Cleaning internal glass, frames and sills
Removal of suitable labels and light adhesive residue
Cleaning cupboards and fittings as agreed
Detailed cleaning of kitchens and washrooms
Cleaning doors, handles and switches
Final wipe-down and presentation checks

Client and Contractor Coordination

A clear handover sequence is essential. Areas should be released for cleaning, remaining defects identified, water and electricity made available where required, and other trades prevented from recontaminating completed zones.

Exclusions Requiring Separate Assessment

  • Construction rubble and bulk waste removal
  • Paint, cement or adhesive removal where surface damage is possible
  • Hazardous material or chemical residue
  • Working at unsafe or unprotected heights
  • Specialist restoration of floors, glass or finishes
  • External high-pressure cleaning
  • Regulated waste transport
  • Cleaning before the area is safe and formally released
FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you remove construction rubble?+

Bulk rubble and construction-waste removal are not automatically included and require a separate approved arrangement.

Can you remove paint and cement from surfaces?+

Only after assessment. Aggressive removal can damage glass, floors and finishes, and some residue may require a specialist.

Should cleaning happen before all trades finish?+

Initial phased cleaning may occur, but the final presentation clean should follow completion of dusty or damaging work.

Can you work to a handover deadline?+

Skyway can plan around a target date, but the programme depends on site readiness, access, utilities and the completion of other trades.
