Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about Skyway’s commercial cleaning, hygiene and facilities-support services. Can’t find what you need? Contact us or request a site assessment.

Getting Started
How do I request a cleaning quotation?+

Complete our site-assessment form with your contact details, facility type, location, approximate size, preferred service frequency and required services. We will review the information and contact you to arrange the next step.

Is a site assessment necessary?+

A site assessment is strongly recommended for recurring commercial cleaning, deep cleaning, post-construction cleaning and other services where the condition, layout and access arrangements affect the scope and price. Small or clearly defined requirements may sometimes be quoted from detailed information and photographs.

Is the site assessment free?+

Skyway will confirm whether any assessment fee applies before scheduling the visit. Standard assessments within our normal service area may be offered without charge, while distant, complex or specialist assessments may require separate arrangements.

What information should I provide?+

Facility type and location, approximate floor area, number of rooms/washrooms/service areas, current cleaning arrangement, required cleaning frequency, operating hours, preferred cleaning times, known access or safety restrictions, required start date, and any tender, procurement or quotation reference.

Services
What cleaning services does Skyway provide?+

Office cleaning, school cleaning, retail cleaning, clinic cleaning, industrial and warehouse cleaning, public-facility cleaning, deep cleaning, post-construction cleaning, washroom hygiene support, carpet and upholstery cleaning, floor care, accessible window and glass cleaning, and selected facilities-support services. The final service scope is agreed after assessing the client’s requirements.

Do you offer once-off cleaning?+

Yes. Once-off services may include deep cleaning, post-construction cleaning, carpet cleaning, floor care, window cleaning and other clearly defined projects.

Do you provide recurring cleaning contracts?+

Yes. Recurring services can be arranged daily, several times per week, weekly or at another agreed frequency.

Do you provide residential cleaning?+

Skyway’s primary focus is commercial, institutional and managed facilities. Suitable residential common-area or property-management requirements may be considered individually.

Do you clean during business hours?+

Yes, where daytime cleaning is suitable for the facility. Cleaning may also be scheduled before opening, after closing, over weekends or during planned shutdowns.

Can you clean only selected areas?+

Yes. The scope can cover the entire premises or selected areas such as offices, washrooms, kitchens, reception areas, floors or internal glass.

Do you provide specialised medical or biohazard cleaning?+

Specialist medical, infection-control, bodily-fluid and biohazard cleaning is not automatically included in standard commercial cleaning. These requirements must be disclosed and assessed separately, and may be excluded or referred to an appropriate provider.

Staffing and Supervision
Does Skyway provide the cleaning staff?+

Yes. Where staffing forms part of the contract, Skyway determines the recommended number of employees based on the premises, scope, service frequency and operating hours.

Are cleaning employees supervised?+

Supervision arrangements depend on the size and complexity of the contract. They may include an on-site supervisor, mobile supervisor, designated team leader or scheduled management inspections.

What happens when a cleaner is absent?+

Absence and relief procedures are agreed as part of the service plan. Relief arrangements depend on the site, required skills, access controls and availability of appropriately inducted employees.

Can we employ a Skyway cleaner directly?+

Clients may not recruit, employ or privately engage Skyway employees in a manner that breaches the applicable service agreement or employment arrangements. Any staffing enquiry must be referred to Skyway management.

Do employees receive site instructions?+

Employees assigned to a site receive instructions relevant to the agreed duties, cleaning methods, client rules, safety requirements, restricted areas and reporting procedures.

Equipment, Chemicals and Consumables
Does Skyway provide cleaning equipment?+

The quotation will specify whether Skyway supplies the equipment or whether certain items are supplied by the client.

Does Skyway provide cleaning chemicals?+

The proposal will state which chemicals and cleaning materials are included. Products are selected according to the task, surface, facility requirements and available manufacturer guidance.

Can we request environmentally responsible products?+

Yes. Where suitable products are available and appropriate for the task, environmentally responsible alternatives can be considered.

Do you supply washroom consumables?+

Yes. Skyway can supply or monitor agreed products such as hand soap, hand sanitiser, toilet paper, paper towels, bin liners and other approved hygiene consumables. Product specifications and replenishment arrangements are confirmed in the service agreement.

Can you use the products already available on our premises?+

Yes, subject to the products being suitable, correctly labelled and safe for the intended task. Skyway may decline to use an unlabelled, incompatible or unsafe product.

Pricing and Contracts
How is commercial cleaning priced?+

Pricing may be influenced by facility size and layout, service frequency, number of employees required, working hours, supervision requirements, equipment, chemicals, consumables, access and security requirements, travel and mobilisation, specialist or periodic tasks, and contract duration.

Do you charge per hour or per square metre?+

The pricing method depends on the service. A quotation may be based on labour hours, floor area, task quantities, staffing requirements, service frequency or a combined monthly contract price.

Is the cheapest quotation always the best option?+

Not necessarily. Commercial cleaning quotations should be compared according to the defined scope, staffing, working hours, equipment, chemicals, supervision, relief arrangements, quality controls and exclusions.

How long are your cleaning contracts?+

Contract terms depend on the client’s requirements and the proposed service model. Once-off, short-term and longer recurring arrangements may be considered.

Can the service scope change after commencement?+

Yes. Changes should be recorded and priced where they affect staffing, time, equipment, supplies or service responsibilities.

Locations and Availability
Which areas do you serve?+

Skyway is based in the Eastern Cape and focuses primarily on Gqeberha and suitable surrounding areas. Services outside the normal operating area are assessed according to the location, contract value, duration and mobilisation requirements.

How quickly can a service start?+

The commencement date depends on completion of the site assessment, approval of the proposal, supplier onboarding, contract signature, employee availability, site induction, equipment and stock procurement, and access arrangements. A mobilisation timeline will be provided for recurring contracts.

Quality and Service Concerns
How do you monitor cleaning quality?+

Depending on the contract, quality controls may include cleaning schedules, supervisor inspections, service checklists, client feedback, corrective-action records, attendance monitoring and periodic performance reviews.

What should we do if we are unhappy with the service?+

Report the issue through the agreed client contact channel and provide the affected area, nature of the concern and relevant date or time. Skyway will assess the concern and arrange corrective action where the issue falls within the agreed scope.

Can Skyway guarantee that every stain will be removed?+

No. Cleaning outcomes depend on the surface, type and age of the stain, previous treatments and whether permanent damage has occurred. Any known limitations should be discussed before treatment begins.
